1. The agreement and your account
These terms are an agreement between you and Jeff Torcato, the sole proprietor who runs Trippenny ("we", "us"). By signing in, you agree to them and to our Privacy notice. If you don't agree, don't use Trippenny.
You must be 18 or older. By signing in, you confirm you are.
Your account. You sign in with your Google account. Keep it secure, because anyone who can sign in as you can see and change your trips. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account.
2. Using Trippenny fairly
Other people's details. When you add a mate, you give us their name and, if you choose, their email address. Only add people you're actually sharing costs with, and only details they'd expect you to share for that. We'll email them an invitation that says you added them.
Don't:
- add false expenses or payments to mislead your mates
- upload anything illegal, or receipts that aren't yours to share
- try to reach trips, accounts or data that aren't yours
- overload, probe or disrupt the service, or get around its limits (for example on receipt scans)
- use Trippenny to send spam or harass anyone
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and remove the content involved.
3. What Trippenny does and doesn't do
It keeps records; it doesn't move money. Trippenny works out who owes whom and records payments you tell it about. It doesn't process payments, hold money, or check that a UPI or other payment went through. Settling up is between you and your mates.
Check the numbers. Balances depend on what you and your mates enter. Exchange rates are daily reference rates, and receipt scans and category suggestions come from AI and can be wrong. Check them before relying on them, and settle disagreements with your mates directly.
It's free and may change. Trippenny is free today. We may add, change or remove features, and we'll try to give notice before removing something you rely on. We don't promise it will always be available or error-free.
4. Your content and leaving
What you enter stays yours. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people on your trips, and process it as the Privacy notice describes, only to run Trippenny.
Shared trips. Expenses on a trip are shared records. Your mates keep their copy of the trip, including your name on its expenses and payments, after you leave or delete your account.
Deleting your account. Ask from the Account tab. You can cancel for 14 days, and we delete the account within 30 days of your request. Trips you own pass to another member, or are deleted if no one else on them has an account. You can export a trip as CSV before you go.
If we close your account for breaking these terms, we'll tell you why, unless the law stops us.
5. Liability, changes and law
As is. Trippenny is provided as it is and as available, to the extent the law allows.
Limits. We aren't liable for money lost or owed between you and your mates, for decisions made on figures in the app, or for indirect or consequential loss. As far as the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to ₹1,000. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't let us limit.
Changes to these terms. We'll tell you in the app before important changes take effect. If you keep using Trippenny after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, delete your account.
Law and disputes. These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please write to us first so we can try to sort it out. Otherwise, the courts at Margao, South Goa, India have exclusive jurisdiction.
